It’s been a busy few months for Heartbeat Chorus. As our reign as Sweet Adeline’s champions drew to a close, we had our two most important shows of the year within two weeks of each other this May; the Sweet Adeline’s 2016 Retiring Champions Show in Gateshead and headlining BABBS Saturday Night Show in Harrogate.
Singing at the iconic Sage is always a pleasure and those of us that managed to catch Forth Valley’s spectacular winning performance were extremely proud to be passing our gold medals on to these worthy champions.
As all the old timers will tell you, BABBS is about as fun as it gets and we were honoured to be asked to headline one of their shows. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, performing our contest package ‘Cabaret’ and ‘What’ll I do’, plus our two most recent show tunes ‘Somebody to love’ and ‘Somewhere only we know’ to a very appreciative audience.
After such a busy month you could be mistaken for thinking it was time to slow down a bit and take things easy… you would be wrong. In the lead up to October’s International Convention in Las Vegas (“Only 18 more Thursday rehearsals to go” we are threatened), the pressure is on to work harder than ever so that when we step onto that vast MGM stage, the rest of the barbershop world can truly see what we are made of.
