Heartbeat Chorus

We are a gold-medal winning a cappella chorus of around 70 women, based in the Stockport area of Greater Manchester, England. In May 2019, we were crowned regional champions in the Sweet Adelines Quartet of Nations competition, representing the United Kingdom and the Netherlands; the latest in a string of accolades for our close-knit chorus. We are a diverse range of women: ages range from early teens to late 70s, coming from all walks of life: nurses, bookkeepers, radiographers, stay at home mums, grandmothers, lawyers, teachers and even a wig maker! All members of the community are represented and in return, we try to give something back with work such as Music In Mind, where teams of chorus members take music in to dementia care homes across Stockport and the surrounding area.             We love to sing with passion, musicality and energy but fun and friendship are just as important to us as the music. Heartbeat sing a variety of a cappella music including pop songs, showtunes, choral, jazz and barbershop standards. Songs range from Christina Aguilera’s ‘Candyman’, to Frank Sinatra’s ‘All the Way’, from Queen’s ‘Somebody to Love’ to the traditional American choral song ‘Shenandoah’. Heartbeat UK Chorus are available to sing at a variety of events, including conferences, weddings and birthday parties – anywhere you would like your guests to be entertained in a unique style. You don’t need to book all 70 of us if your event doesn’t call for it! We also have a smaller chorus, ensembles and quartets available where needed – anything from four up to the full chorus.
